After withdrawal in March 1987, KA Class, no. KA211, was acquired by A. Goninan in July 1990 and transferred to their Bassendean works where it converted was into a mobile engine test-bed for locomotives under development by the company. In April 1998, the former KA211, was unnumbered whe this photo was taken inside the works.

The locomotive was purchased in the early 1990's and has been used on various projects by the Goninan Group as a mobile Engine test bed, which resulted in the superstructure being drastically modified to house the engines under test.
