Danny Neilson, from Tas Steam Alive, was contacted with the hope of him contributing some material for the website of the Australian cousins of the Class 37's, albeit a few years younger. Danny came up with the goods and all the Tasmanian operated examples were covered by his contributions. |

From 'Australian National' to 'Pacific National' Vol 1 VOLUME 1. THE WILTSHIRE LINE (2006) Highlights of this DVD include: X class to Stanley (1986), Last steam (1989), ZCs on log train Montumana - Wynyard (1990), ZB12 cab ride and other problems (1992), Z4 & ZA4 laying ballast, then struggling with hand sanding on the Montumana bank (1994), New owners re-open line (1999), GMs head west, (2000), A “push/pull” train near Somerset (2000) and a few other unusual runs, then exclusive video of both the second last train with its ZB&ZC EE power, and the final train on March 27 2003, where DQ GMs run right through to Wiltshire for the first and probably last time. Diesels Across Tasmania Vol 2 Highlights of this tape include: Y1 derailed at Devonport, Cement train operations including loading and unloading, Y5 takes a train to Wiltshire, A look at Invermay yard full of derelict locomotives, A ride on DP13 to Wiltshire, Cab ride on the EBR, the Burnie acid train, Hellyer line in snow, Log train from Black River, Derwent Valley Railway train to Maydena, Y1 & Y5 hauling container train from Burnie and the last Mount Lyell Copper train. GOODBYE PACIFIC NATIONAL 2005-2009 (2010) Highlights of this DVD include: Late trains, Don River & Derwent Valley excursions, Leven River reflections, ZAs on the coal train, MKAs in service, derailment sees DV1 leading “paper train”, more MKAs arrive, coal train coverage, 11 class locos leave Burnie, 2101 on one of its last runs, a 94 container train, start of track upgrading by QR/VEC, a look at the Melba line and a few trains in the south, and then the last day of Pacific National’s operations in Tasmania. We follow the paper train from Burnie to Brighton and back to Stonor where the sun finally set on PN. Most scenes show the full train consist. No narration, on screen captions, 20 chapters, 122 mins.
