The Wensleydale Railway is an authentic heritage railway serving the local community, offering tourists, families and transport enthusiasts a great value day out in the Yorkshire Dales with lots to see and do along the way.

There are 22 miles of the former line from Northallerton to Garsdale that opened to passengers in full in 1878 available to the railway, but timetabled services only run over 16 miles of it from Leeming Bar to Redmire (for Bolton Castle). The railway is actively working to restore the full length of the line as part of our historic rail and transport experience.

Directions by Road	Leeming Bar is adjacent to the A1 dual carriageway. Leave at the exit for the A684 and turn right to head eastbound. The station is close to the centre of town and had plenty of parking places.
