During 1971, Goldsworthy Mining were expanding operations and constructing a new line from the then terminus at Mount Goldsworthy to Shay Gap. A class, no. 5, was used on construction trains and is seen at the base which was 90 miles 25 chains from Finucane Island on July 27th, 1971.
