There was reported to be many of the English Electric built 1000 Class locomotives stored at the Zalat Dump to the east of Khartoum. On December 15th 2010, only remnants were visible, all thought to be from one locomotive, identified by it's builders plate which was still fitted! Here the dissected cab sections of 1000 class, no. ١٠٥٨ (1058), is seen waiting it's final disposal
